Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 June 2026

This policy explains how Seed Talks (“we”, “us”) collects and uses your personal data when you visit seedtalks.co.uk, book tickets, sign up to our newsletter, or get in touch. We are the data controller for this information. You can reach us at hello@seedtalks.co.uk.

What we collect and why

  • Newsletter sign-ups. Your email address (and sometimes your city) so we can send you news about upcoming talks. We rely on your consent, and you can unsubscribe from any email at any time. This is handled through Mailchimp.
  • Feedback. Ratings and any comments you choose to share, plus the event or city they relate to, so we can improve our talks. We rely on your consent.
  • Enquiries. If you email us or use a contact form, we use your details to respond to you (our legitimate interest in replying to you).
  • Ticket bookings. Tickets are sold through Eventbrite, and gift cards through Gift Up!. They process your name, contact and payment details under their own privacy policies — we never see or store your card details.
  • Cookies and analytics. With your consent, we use analytics and marketing cookies as described in our Cookie Policy. We also use cookieless analytics (Vercel) that don’t identify you.
  • Technical data. Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically processes data such as your IP address and browser type to keep the site secure and available (our legitimate interest).

Who we share data with

We don’t sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that help us run Seed Talks, acting on our instructions:

  • Mailchimp (Intuit) — email newsletters
  • Eventbrite — ticketing and checkout
  • Gift Up! — gift cards
  • Google — analytics (with consent)
  • Meta Platforms — advertising measurement (with consent)
  • Vercel — website hosting and performance analytics

Some of these providers are based outside the UK/EEA. Where that’s the case, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the UK’s International Data Transfer Agreement or equivalent.

How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected — for example, until you unsubscribe from our newsletter or ask us to delete your details — and as long as required to meet legal obligations.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • ask us to delete your data;
  • object to or restrict how we use it;
  • withdraw consent at any time (this won’t affect prior processing);
  • receive your data in a portable format.

To exercise any of these, email hello@seedtalks.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

For details of the cookies we use and how to manage them, see our Cookie Policy.
