About this talk

Why are so many women with ADHD still being overlooked or misdiagnosed? ADHD was once thought to occur predominantly in boys and men, leaving girls and women unnoticed and unsupported. Childhood diagnosis ratios sit around 3:1, yet this evens out in adulthood, while women remain more likely to be underdiagnosed or misdiagnosed with other conditions, often amid added societal pressures. ADHD in women frequently presents differently, shaped by internalised coping strategies, social expectations and biological factors that can make symptoms less visible. This professional workshop dispels common myths and explores ADHD in women, including the impact of hormones, dopamine and neuroscience, giving you an evidence-based understanding alongside practical strategies to better support those navigating a neurotypical world. Designed for therapists, counsellors, psychologists, coaches and other professionals working with neurodivergent clients, this is a professional-level session that assumes familiarity with therapeutic concepts and clinical practice.
