About this talk

Is it love, or limerence? Explore the psychology of romantic fixation and learn how to recognise and manage it. Followed by Q&A. Have you ever been so consumed by someone that they occupied every corner of your mind? When a good morning text could brighten your entire day, and a rescheduled date could ruin your weekend? In romance films and stories, this kind of intensity is sold as true love – proof you’ve found the one. But is it, or is this type of romantic fixation actually harmful to our wellbeing? In this workshop, Dr Kathrine Bejanyan will unpack the concept of limerence: what it is, how it differs from love, and how to recognise and manage it – whether you’re the one consumed, or the one being fixated on.
